Beginning Treatment for Eating Disorders at CPC (Frequently Asked Questions)
If I am interested in treatment at Columbus Park Collaborative, what is my first step?
Your first step is simply to call us at 646-414-1446. Based on your needs, you will either be referred to a therapist or nutritionist for individual or group counseling, or if more intensive treatment in the Day Treatment Program or Intensive Outpatient Program is indicated, you may schedule an intake with CPC’s Clinical Director. The purpose of this initial meeting is to get to know you, and to understand your history, current needs and treatment goals. You will also have an opportunity to meet with the Medical Director and Nutrition Director for additional evaluation and planning. This process enables us to make guided recommendations for your treatment.
What is the recommended length of participation for each program?
We feel that our clients deserve eight weeks in our Day Treatment Program and eight to twelve weeks in our Intensive Outpatient Program. The CPC treatment team monitors each client to assess treatment progress and to coordinate step-down care.
How does CPC ensure that I receive individualized care?
CPC accepts a limited number of clients into carefully formed treatment groups. We ensure a staff to client ratio of 2 to 1. The CPC treatment team communicates daily to closely track and plan the care of every client.
Does CPC accept insurance?
CPC does not accept insurance. In order for us to provide comprehensive care to our clients, the treatment process cannot be limited by standardized care restrictions dictated by health insurance companies. We believe treatment is most effective when decisions relating to client care are customized and made exclusively by the client and her treatment team.
Depending on your specific health insurance plan, you may be entitled to reimbursement for a percentage of treatment fees. Please contact your insurance administrator directly for information about your benefits. CPC will provide necessary paperwork for insurance claim submission. Detailed fee information about programs and other services is provided upon request.
